Albright Knot

SKU: ET-FK-ALBKNT

  • Great for connecting two different fluorocarbon / monofilament lines of different size.
  • Smooth knot, passing through guides with ease.

Otherwise known as the Albright Special, it is an angling knot invented by Jimmie Albright that is use to tie together two differing diameters and / or material of line such as PE braided line to fluorocarbon leader line.

Although the knot is smooth enough to pass through SIC guides, some anglers will smoothen the knot further by coating the knot with an appropriate cement to to reduce friction, whilst gluing the knot together to prevent possible slippage.

A variation of the Albright knot (Alberto's knot) has been devised to prevent slippage by adding a reverse down turn to the knotting process to increase PE braided knot binding to the fluorocarbon leader - read here
