The Daiwa SLP Works Maintenance Grease 104, is a soft synthetic lithium-based hydrocarbon that is designed as a general maintenance lube for use as a heat resistant lubricant and rust inhibitor for ball bearings that support metal-to-metal load bearing components such as gears, bait casting reel worm shafts, etc. The grease comes as an off-white, Vaseline-like coloured compound that has good spread properties, making it easy to apply and permeate into the bearing's inner raceway and shaft with a dab of a brush. As a general guideline, if the bearing is still fit for purpose and does not need changing, remove the original grease deposits, dirt and any salt deposits from the bearing and shaft contact points before drying and applying the 104 grease.
