The Lures Factory, A-Gon Series Lotus Frog, is probably best described as the older (first released circa 2006), but smaller sibling of the Lures Factory, Alang-Ka Jumbo Frog.
Each Lotus Frog lure is individually hand crafted, unique in its own right with all the life-like realism of its living counterparts.
It is the most popular, best selling, hard body frog in the whole of the Lures Factory line-up.
Not because it has been around for quite a while, but the Lotus Frog seriously catches snakehead (haruan) as explained why.
It has almost all the features and attributes of the Jumbo Frog crammed into its small profile, making it a worthy adversary of the ubiquitous snakehead haruan species that is found in greater abundance (that the snakehead toman species) throughout much of South East Asia.
Like the Jumbo Frog, the Lotus Frog is made of a super tough resin composite to withstand repeated toothy creature attacks; constructed with a stainless steel through-wire from head to tail for added lug strength. Unlike it bigger breathen, the Lotus Frog is a sinker; however, with the same design as the Jumbo Frog, the Lotus Frog is quick to rise to the surface with its chin above the water line to give the same “push-water, bow-wave” action; its lowered center of gravity will ensure that the Lotus Frog is on its belly in-flight and when being retrieved, cast after cast; and its small thin profile allows lurers to get good distances with each cast.
The only thing it lacks is an internal rattling chamber as a result of obvious space constraints and instead of an adjustable weed guard (that comes with the Jumbo Frog), the Lotus Frog comes with a fixed-wire weed guard and a colour coordinated silicon tail fibre skirt, that acts as a secondary weed guard that keeps snagging to an absolute minimum.
All in all, the Lures Factory, A-Gon Series Lotus Frog, is a proven lure.
You may find this lure a little too small to catch your IGFA record sized giant snakehead (toman), however who says you cannot aim for an IGFA record for snakehead (hauran) species, for which the Lotus Frog was designed and created to target!
