Daiwa - Reel Guard Oil Spray

The Daiwa Reel Guard Oil Spray is a aerosol based, oil maintenance kit that is ideal for cleaning and lubricating various moving parts of a fishing reel.

Packaged in 1 separate 100ml aerosol cans equipped with needle nose dispensers, the Daiwa Reel Guard Oil kit is ideal for getting into hard to access parts of the reel.

As a general guideline for using this maintenance kit:

1. Spinning Reels

- Use Grease Spray to lightly lubricate the drive gear bearings of a spinning reel;

- Use Oil Spray to lightly lubricate handle knob shaft and bearings;

- Use Grease Spray to lightly lubricate bail arm hinges;

- Use Oil Spray to lightly lubricate spool shaft;

- Use Grease Spray to lightly lubricate Line Roller Bearings.

2. Bait Casting Reels

- Use Oil Spray to remove trapped dirt on worm screw grooves, followed by using Grease Spray to lightly lubricate the worm screw;

- Use Oil Spray to lightly lubricate handle knob shaft and bearings;

- For set plate ball bearings, refer to the Daiwa reel’s instructions that are provided with the reel to determine if Grease Spray or Oil Spray is to be applied, as different bearing types are used for different Daiwa bait casting reels;

- Use Grease Spray to lightly lubricate spool bearings (using a drop dispenser) and spool shaft.

- Use Grease Spray to lightly lubricate side plate pinion gear ball bearings.

- Use Grease Spray to lightly lubricate mechanical brake knob ball bearings.

As a general note, clean and remove all dirt and salt deposit from surfaces that are to be lubricated before oiling and/or greasing. Do not use Oil Spray and/or Grease Spray on the reel’s drag washer.
