Super Metal

Ultra tough and rigid aluminum alloy body – The rigid, aluminum alloy structure keep precision internal parts in perfect alignment under the heaviest of loads.

Digigear™

Digitally designed stainless and bronze alloy gears with a zero friction mainshaft design – This ensures a perfect mesh between the ultra-tough, surface treated alloy drive gear and the marine bronze pinion gear for optimized speed, power and durability giving a smoother, more powerful retrieve. 

Cross Wrap

Digigear’s™ precision, gear-driven level-wind lays line evenly in a cross wrapped pattern to prevent line dig-in under pressure.

CRBB

Daiwa’s CRBB (i.e. corrosion resistant ball bearings) are specially treated stainless steel and last up to 12 times longer than standard stainless steel bearings in a corrosive saltwater environment – Daiwa’s CRBB, are sealed to shield out sand, fine grit, salt crystals and other abrasives, unlike ordinary “corrosion resistant” bearings, which are open to saltwater and grit.

Washable

Sealed, water-resistant drag and body - makes the reel washable and keeps the internal mechanism completely dry and free of salt  - thereby eliminating corrosion and gear failure – this in turn guranteeing you years of pleasure with each use of your Saltiga-Z reel in the most trying of conditions.

Air Bail™

Hollow tubular stainless Air Bail™ is super strong yet light in weight, with no protrusions to snag line leading to the Twister Buster roller.

Twist Buster®

Huge oversized large diameter Twister Buster TiN coated roller allows 200 pound sized shock leaders to sail through unimpeded with each cast. The large diameter roller also helps dissipate enormous pressure placed on the roller by today’s super braided lines which passes through at 90 degrees to the spool. In addition, TiN coating helps dramatically reduce friction to minimise line breakage occurring at the roller.

Dual, full-time Infinite Anti-Reverse

Bail lock prevents both handle and rotor turning during each cast and Air Bail™ from returned to the closed position - thereby eliminating the risk of snapped lines, lost lures and personal injury from occuring with each cast.

ABS

Machined ABS (anti-ballistic system) aluminum spool with TiN lip – the spool diameter is tapered to discourage line peel when the bail arm is opened. This in turn allows you to load up the ABS spool to its brim thereby utilising 100% of the spool’s capacity

TiN coating

Titanium Nitride (TiN) is an extremely hard ceramic material that is often used as a coating on titanium alloy, steel, carbide, and aluminium components to improve the substrate's surface quality. In the case of your Saltiga-Z spinning reel, it is found on both the ABS spool lip and Twist Buster roller to ensure corrosion resistance and maintain surface and edge retention against wear and abrasion causes by today’s braided lines.

TiN is found on drill bits and milling cutters which often improves their lifetime by a factor of three or more. TiN  has excellent infrared reflective properties and reflects in a spectum similar to Gold, which explains the gold colour of the spool lip and the massive Twist Buster ® roller found at the end of the bail arm.
